Good to Go

As we all look forward to lockdown restrictions gradually being relaxed, we can begin to make plans to welcome visitors into and around Bridgend County.

So what better time to plan a visit to explore the beaches, dunes, towns and valleys that make Bridgend County one of Wales’ top visitor destinations.

To make sure that visitors will be able to enjoy Bridgend County safely, many of our businesses are officially ‘Good To Go’ – this means they’ve achieved the UK mark to signal that they have worked hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and have processes in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Here’s an insight into just some of the Bridgend County businesses that have already become part of the ‘Good To Go’ family:

Accommodations:

Camping and touring sites

  • Brodawel Camping & Caravan Park - A peaceful family park set in beautiful open countryside within a mile of the beautiful and quite dramatic Glamorgan Heritage Coast. On the edge of the ancient village of Nottage, it is perfect for walkers and cyclists, surfers and families.
  • Our Welsh Caravan & Camping - Nestled at the river’s edge on a working sheep farm surrounded by Welsh woodland, this site offers standard, serviced and family pitches. Easy access to many mountain bike trails and also the Sustrans Celtic Trail.

Self catering

  • Pentre farm - A listed farmhouse set upon the Welsh hillside. Peacefully tucked away within the fringe of a historic village, lovingly restored with a mix of exposed stone and original beams enhancing its character and warmth. Pentre Farm is just a short distance from Maesteg an archetypal valleys town, alive with the traditions of music and mining history and now a playground for thrill seekers.
  • Ty Tanglwyst Holiday Cottages - Four cosy self-catering holiday cottages located on a 120-acre working dairy farm. Enjoy fresh farm produce, help feed the young calves and enjoy beautiful walks through the 25-acre ancient woodland just south of the farm.
  • Stay Wales - Penyfai Lodge is a beautiful well decorated spacious property on the Welsh coastline of South Wales.
Welcome to Porthcawl. Safety First

  • Best Western Heronston hotel and Spa - This modern hotel boasts a range of rooms including standard and superior rooms and suites, has leisure facilities with indoor heated pool, sauna, spa pool, steam room, gym and a Hotel Spa and is situated only minutes away from the Glamorganshire Heritage Coastline.

Fill your lungs with clean air without sacrificing any luxurious home comforts as we strike a perfect balance between town & country.
  • Court Colman Manor - Nestled at the foot of the Garw Valley, but just a few minutes’ drive from the M4, Court Colman Manor is a peaceful retreat offering stunning period features, award-winning Bokhara Brasserie (officially the best curry restaurant in Wales)
  • Hazelwood Guest House - Hazelwood offers six en-suite bedrooms, a discrete dining room and lounge area housed in a conservatory. Residents also have access to the carefully tended garden which is set in 2.5 acres of natural parkland alongside the river, where licenses are available to fish the Ogwr. The guest house area has been designed to be completely separate from the home, so whilst you can expect a friendly welcome, you will also be afforded the privacy and freedom you would expect from a small hotel
  • Olivia House - Offering exclusive and stylish accommodation in a unique recently refurbished Edwardian townhouse, Olivia House is just a short walk from the picturesque Porthcawl promenade and its numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.
  • Rose and Crown - Nestled at the heart of Nottage village, The Rose and Crown is housed within a beautiful, traditional stone built inn. You’ll enjoy stunning views of the village green and beyond, as you relax in our rooms which have been furnished with comfort in mind.  Luxury beds, well-appointed bathrooms and rooms packed full of the charm and character you would expect of a historic village Inn. Many of the 11 bedrooms enjoy spectacular views of the green.
