Rugby fans can now watch the United Rugby Championship in the heart of Bridgend as the Ospreys kick off their season at Brewery Field! With a pre-season win against Exeter Chiefs earlier this month, the Osprey’s 2025-26 campaign has begun - with all home matches being played in Bridgend while the team continues to finalise a lease for St Helen’s Sports Ground in Swansea.
Visiting fans can expect easy access into Bridgend from the M4 corridor, plus opportunities to explore the town before and after matches! Here's a snippet of some of the best things to see and do while you’re in the area:
Historical attractions
Bridgend is full of history! Explore castle ruins at Newcastle, or visit historical St John’s House - thought to be one of the oldest dwellings in Bridgend. There's also a heritage trail to follow around Bridgend town centre, linking twenty eight points of interest.
Shopping
Bridgend’s town centre is an eclectic mix of shopping opportunities with high street chains and independents in Caroline Street and surrounding streets, as well as The Rhiw Shopping Centre.
Bridgend Designer Outlet is a short drive out of town, offering designer brands and popular food chains, plus activities for children.
Nature Walks
Fancy a walk around the area? Newbridge Fields offers leafy paths next to the River Ogmore, or a little further afield you’ll find the quaint village of Merthyr Mawr, leading towards a spectacular national nature reserve with impressive sand dunes.
Foodie Heaven
You're in for a treat if you're fuelling up before or after the rugby, with Bridgend being home to many fantastic places to eat and drink. At the Brewery Field ground you'll find vibrant street food, or just a stroll away you'll find an extensive list of popular and award-winning restaurants.

- Arrive early: because ground‑side and closer car parks fill fast.
