Newton is the most easterly beach at Porthcawl and is a ten minute walk from the picturesque village of Newton.

St John’s House is protected as a Grade II listed building, described as the oldest habitable building in the Bridgend area.

The Hi-Tide would like you to join them in celebrating the summer season, by enjoying a nice cold or warm drink or a family meal at the Hi-Tide itself, eating chips form the many excellent fish and chip shops in Porthcawl or a fabulous ice cream from the numerous parlours around the town., while enjoying the fireworks. Make an evening of it in Sunny Porthcawl, arrive early to enjoy the beach and other attactions. The Fireworks will be set off before dark. This could be from 21.oohrs onwards, so please leave plenty of time to arrive and park. There are numerous carparks around Porthcawl, so please use them.
It will be the first time the Championship will have been held in Wales. The world's best golfers will descend on the stunning coastline course – where the sea is visible from every hole – for what is set to be a magnificent occasion. Royal Porthcawl has a long and storied history of hosting top-level golf including The Amateur Championship on seven occasions, the Walker Cup in 1995, the Curtis Cup in 1964 and The Senior Open presented by Rolex in 2014, 2017 and 2023.
